Our project

Work in progress !

Work in progress !

At the beginning there was a crush on Saint-Aignan-sur-Cher and its castle which floats above the town, giving it this very special atmosphere...

Then there was the meeting, one Saturday morning on a small Le Bon Coin vignette. Few photos but an incredible garden, view of the castle and this weeping willow. It looked so beautiful...

A week later, promise of sale in hand, the project began. After a 2.5 hour drive and an adrenaline rush, we finally set foot in this fantasy house, and bought without having actually visited it.

One certainty: inside, everything had to be redone.

The spaces didn't fit together, the ground floor was dark, half-insulated, the upper floors were downright unsanitary, the roof was sagging... But the potential was there and we could already see ourselves in the future.

Except that the aftermath lasted longer than expected... after a year of floundering, we parted ways with our architect to give new impetus to the renovation...

Accompanied by our new project manager, we wipe out the lost months and restart the machine. That's when we knew we were going to succeed.

Because this house had a soul that we did not want to betray. Design, materials, finishes... We wanted noble materials that respect the old; the perfect marriage of modern and vintage, charm and comfort. It was finally possible.

In 2024, after a year of work and development, the interior of the house is finished. Everything is like on our moodboards, like in our heads, like in our plans!

But the work is not quite finished...

In the coming months, we will tackle the garden, which deserves a little wave of a magic wand, and a pretty pool for soaking in the sunny days, a glass of Vouvray in hand!

And then later, when it is possible, we will rearrange the bread oven to gain even more comfort. The barn, which now houses the sports hall, will surely be entitled to some additional equipment... but we'll keep the surprise for you for now. There is also the facade of the house, typical of the region but which could do with a little cleaning…

So there you have it, Les Biches, it's a refuge with incredible charm, a project still in progress, but in which we put all our heart.

We hope some of yours will stick there.
